Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Mandi), is a public technical university located in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. It has granted the status of &lsquo;Institution of National Importance&rsquo;. Established in 2009, the IIT Mandi cell was set up at <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/indian-institute-of-technology-iit-roorkee-272">IIT Roorkee</a> in March 2009, to steer the activities of IIT Mandi. Approved by UGC (University Grants Commission), the institute is ranked at at the 33rd position in the <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/exams/engineering">Engineering exams</a> category and 73rd in the overall category as per NIRF rankings 2023.&nbsp;

IIT Mandi is one of the eight new IITs established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in the year 2009. IIT Mandi has nine schools, including the School of Engineering, School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, School of Basic Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, etc. The institute has a campus size of 538 acres with a student and faculty count of 1611 and 114 respectively.
