The Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar (IIT) Ropar, recognised as India&rsquo;s second-generation technical institutes, has been a research power-house for engineering students. Founded under the IIT Act, IIT Ropar is spread across 525 acre land. It celebrated its 18th Foundation Day in February 2026. Located near the Sutlej river, the institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate technical courses like B.Tech and M.Tech in different disciplines such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Engineering etc.
To take admission in IIT Ropar,&nbsp;candidates need to qualify&nbsp;JEE Advanced and GATE for <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/btech">BTech </a>and <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/mtech">MTech</a>.&nbsp;BTech&nbsp;and MTech are the flagship programmes offered at this college. It has also signed an agreement with the&nbsp;Indian Army&nbsp;to launch a new&nbsp;MTech programme in Defence Technology. It also signed an MoU with&nbsp;VUI Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.&nbsp;to advance&nbsp;AI-driven Cybersecurity Research.
