Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar which is popularly known as IIT Ropar is a public university for Tech. studies that was established in 2008 by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. It is established in Ropar, Punjab, India. IIT Ropar is one of the 8 new Indian Institutes of Technology. It has granted the status of &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo; by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India. It is ranked 22 on the NIRF 2023 Ranking List under the engineering category.

IIT Ropar offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes is based on various national/state-level entrance examinations. Candidates are required to register for the respective entrance examinations to fulfill the IIT Ropar seelection criteria to be eligible for admission. The college has a dedicated Placement and Training cell which provides ample job opportunities to its students. The placement cell is a part of the Career Development and Corporate Relations Center (CDCRC). IIT Ropar placement cell organises industry lectures, workshops, seminars, panel discussions, synergy meets, corporate and professional training activities. Each year, numerous companies from across the sectors join the IIT Ropar placement drive for hiring full-time employees and interns. The institute has a campus size of 500.00 acres with a student and faculty count of 1920 and 158 respectively.
