Madurai Kamaraj University offers course admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and distance education courses. The admissions process at the University differs depending on the course. A group discussion and/or interview are required for admission to various courses after meeting the eligibility and obtaining valid scores in entrance exams like the CAT, GMAT, MAT and JEE Main. A candidate must qualify the Madurai Kamaraj University entrance exam, which is followed by a practical exam and a viva, to get enrolled to the M.P.Ed. courses. For the PG selection procedure 50% of the weightage is given to marks obtained in the Entrance Examination conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University and the remaining 50% weightage is given to the candidate's undergraduate marks up to the 5th semester. For the MBA (Residential program), candidates have to go through an interview and group discussion after the declaration of the entrance examination results. For the MKU UG Selection Criteria, there is no requirement for an entrance examination. Madurai Kamaraj University also offers various scholarships to candidates under certain criteria.
