National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra which is popularly known as NIT Kurukshetra is a publicly funded autonomous technical institute under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. This <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/engineering">engineering college</a> and <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/management">management college</a> was established in 1963 in Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. It is ranked 58 in the NIRF 2023 list under the engineering category and it is one of the 31 NITs of India. NIT Kurukshetra has been declared as an &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo; by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India, in 2008.
National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra: Highlights
NIT Kurukshetra offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes is made through entrance examinations. Candidates are required to appear for the respective entrance examination to fulfill the NIT Kurukshetra selection criteria to be eligible for admission. NIT Kurukshetra placement and training cell offers various internship and placement opportunities to the students.. The cell invites organisations for placement drive to their institution from various sectors such as Manufacturing, Core Engineering, Consulting, Software and IT. The cell also prepares the students for placements by conducting activities and mock interviews to enhance their skills. The placement process includes the written test, personal interview and group discussion. NIT Kurukshetra has a campus size of 292 acres with a student and faculty count of 4591 and 157 respectively.
