NIT Kurukshetra Admission 2026
NIT Kurukshetra offers admission on the basis of the engineering exam and management exam. For admission to the B.Tech college programme, candidates have to appear for JEE Main exam, while for the M.Tech college programme, candidates have to appear for the GATE examination followed by the counselling round and personal interview for both the programmes. For admission to the MBA college programme, candidates have to appear for CAT/CMAT/GMAT/MAT entrance examination and for the MCA college programme, candidates have to appear for the NIMCET entrance examination. For PhD programme, candidates have to appear for an admission test and personal interview.
Step–by-step application process:
- Candidates have to appear for the national/state-level entrance examination as per the desired course.
- Selected candidates will be then called for a personal interview and counselling round.
- Final admission is done after the verification of documents and payment of fees.

NIT Kurukshetra Eligibility 2026
To enroll in UG, PG and PhD courses offered by NIT Kurukshetra for this academic year, candidates need to have these eligibilities:
- B.Tech: Candidates should have a minimum 75% aggregate in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST/PwD), with Physics and Mathematics as required subjects.
- Post-Graduate Courses: Courses like M.Tech/M.Sc/MBA candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 for SC/ST/PWD).
- Ph.D.: A Master's degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% or 6.5 CGPA. Candidates doing their final year examinations are also allowed to apply provisionally.
