National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra which is popularly known as NIT Kurukshetra is a publicly funded autonomous technical institute under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. This engineering college and management college was established in 1963 in Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. It is ranked 58 in the NIRF 2023 list under the engineering category and it is one of the 31 NITs of India. NIT Kurukshetra has been declared as an ‘Institute of National Importance’ by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India, in 2008.

NIT Kurukshetra Admission 2025
NIT Kurukshetra offers admission on the basis of the engineering exam and management exam. For admission to the B.Tech college programme, candidates have to appear for JEE Main exam, while for the M.Tech college programme, candidates have to appear for the GATE examination followed by the counselling round and personal interview for both the programmes. For admission to the MBA college programme, candidates have to appear for CAT/CMAT/GMAT/MAT entrance examination and for the MCA college programme, candidates have to appear for the NIMCET entrance examination. For PhD programme, candidates have to appear for an admission test and personal interview.
Step–by-step application process:
- Candidates have to appear for the national/state-level entrance examination as per the desired course.
- Selected candidates will be then called for a personal interview and counselling round.
- Final admission is done after the verification of documents and payment of fees.
