National Institute of Technology, Srinagar which is popularly known as NIT Srinagar was formerly called Regional Engineering College Srinagar. It is a publicly funded autonomous technical institute under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. NIT Srinager is a <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/engineering">top engineering college</a> that was established in 1960 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is ranked 82 in the NIRF 2023 list under the <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/exams/engineering">engineering exam</a>&nbsp;category and is one of the 31 NITs of India. NIT Srinagar was granted the status of &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo; in 2003 by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India.&nbsp;
National Institute of Technology, Srinagar: Highlights
NIT Srinagar offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes is based on national/state-level entrance examinations. Candidates are required to appear for the respective entrance examination to fulfil the NIT Srinagar selection criteria to be eligible for admission. The placement and training cell of the university takes care of all the placement activities. Apart from organising the placement drive, right from the training of the students till the personal interview round, the placement and training cell focuses on the holistic development of the students. Training sessions related to the enhancement of presentation skills and soft skills are frequently conducted by the cell. The cell also organises mock interview rounds to groom the students to deliver better performance in the actual interview conducted by the different organisations that visit the campus during the placement drive. NIT Srinagar has a campus size of 68 acres with a student and faculty count of 3001 and 122 respectively.
