Institute of National Importance the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal: NIT Warangal continues to be the most preferred NITs of all for technical education in 2026. NIT Warangal has been one of the first NITs followed by a chain of other 31 National Institutes of Technology, India. Formerly known as REC Warangal, the institute recently ranked at #28 spots in the NIRF 2025 Engineering Rankings. NIT Warangal is the first among the 30 NITs in the country in the <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/exams/engineering">engineering exam</a> category. The institute currently has 13 academic departments and a few advanced research centres in various streams of Engineering. It is a <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges">top college in India</a> that offers eight UG programmes in different disciplines of Engineering, and 29 PG programmes in Business Administration, Sciences, Computer Application, and Engineering. The institute also offers a PhD programme in <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/management">Management</a>, Humanities, Engineering, Sciences and Physical Education. NIT Warangal has a campus size of 248 acres with a student and faculty count of 5645 and 345 respectively.
