SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a deemed-to-be university, established in 2002, located in Kattankulathur, Chennai. The University has 3 campuses &ndash; Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani Campus &ndash; all in and around Chennai, Tiruchirappalli (in TN). SRM University is accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with &lsquo;A++&rsquo; Grade and recognised by the UGC (University Grants Commission).
As per the NIRF 2025 ranking, the University was ranked&nbsp;11th&nbsp;and&nbsp;14th&nbsp;under the&nbsp;University&nbsp;and&nbsp;Engineering&nbsp;categories, respectively. The flagship programmes offered at the institute are BTech and MBA. Admission to SRM is based on JEE Main score and SRMJEE for the BTech program. The University also conducts other entrance tests for admission to various programs.&nbsp;

SRM University Chennai offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and super-speciality courses. Admission to the courses is either merit or entrance-based. Candidates must fulfil the SRM Institute of Science and Technology admission criteria to be eligible for the courses. The SRM Institute of Science and Technology placements are managed by the placement department of the university, known as the SRM Career Centre. The placement department is responsible for training the students so that they get placed in reputed organisations. Training programmes are organised by the placement department to help students fulfil industry demands. The SRM placement and training cell focuses on providing counselling, expert lectures, training sessions, internships, live projects, industrial visits, case studies etc and help in bringing various recruiters for the placement drive. The placement process includes contacting and inviting organisations for placements, fixing date and time for pre-placement talks, companies conducting pre-placement talks, selection of candidates, final rounds of placement process. At last, shortlisted students are offered placements.&nbsp;
