Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, which is popularly known as GNDU Amritsar, Punjab, is a Public State University, established by the State Legislature Act No. 21 of 1969. It is the only University with 1st category in the states of Punjab, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. Accredited by NAAC with ‘A++’ Grade and conferred as “University with potential for excellence” status by UGC. GNDU Amritsar is ranked at 48th position in University category and 87th position in Overall category, as per the NIRF rankings 2023.

GNDU Amritsar Admission 2025
GNDU Amritsar offers course admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. For admission to GNDU Amritsar, the candidate must qualify the entrance examination conducted by the University. The admission to B.Tech and B.Arch courses is done based on candidates' scores in JEE Main and NATA, respectively. Candidates have to appear for the GPAT/university entrance exam and GATE/university entrance exam for admission to M.Pharma and M.Arch/M.Tech. courses. For MBA, candidates have to appear for the Guru Nanak Dev University Management Entrance Test (GMET) to be conducted by the University Business School. Admission to B.Sc, B.Com and M.Com is based on national/state-level entrance exam/University entrance exam. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for the counselling process. Aspiring candidates can visit the official website of the University to fill the application form for registration. To confirm the admission, candidates must get their documents verified and pay the course fee. GNDU Amritsar also offers various scholarships to meritorious candidates and economically weaker sections.
