The IDC School of Design at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has introduced the ePostgraduate Diploma in Interaction Design (ePGD IxD) for working professionals. This program enables professionals to complete courses at their own pace, with each course offering 6 to 12 credits. Candidates can earn the diploma after accumulating 36 credits or more. According to IIT Bombay, credits can also be stored in the Academic Bank of Credits for use in other future programs.

The Monsoon course on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), offered since 2000, has now been incorporated into the ePGD IxD program under the title "Design of Interactive Products." The first session of this 12-credit course will be held in person from March 17 to April 1. Registration for the IIT Bombay HCI course is now open.
Course options and delivery methods
The IIT Bombay program features seven additional courses, including qualitative research methods in design, quantitative research methods in design, human factors in interaction design, introduction to virtual and augmented reality, game design principles and practice, data visualisation, and theoretical perspectives in design. These courses will be offered in in-person, online, or hybrid formats.
Eligibility Requirements for IIT Bombay ePGD in Interaction Design
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in fields such as design, engineering, architecture, fine arts, applied arts, or ergonomics. Candidates with degrees in other disciplines may also apply if they have a minimum of three years of industry experience in roles like UI/UX design, web development, product management, or other related areas.
The IIT Bombay ePostgraduate program is tailored for interaction designers, UI/UX professionals, software developers, IT quality experts, product managers, and faculty members interested in teaching interaction design and related topics. Registration is now open for all courses.
Fee structure
Course fees are determined by the number of credits, with a 6-credit course priced at Rs 1,22,272, an 8-credit course at Rs 1,63,029, and a 12-credit course costing Rs 2,44,543, inclusive of GST. The total cost for completing 36 credits is approximately Rs 7.34 lakhs.
Fees are paid individually for each course, rather than for the entire program. According to IIT Bombay's official website, the costs cover course materials, lunch, and tea, but do not include travel or accommodation expenses.
