Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology which is popularly known as IIST Thiruvananthapuram is a deemed university for the study and research of space science. It is located in Valiamala, Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is the first university in Asia to be dedicated to the study and research of Outer space, established in 2007 by G. Madhavan Nair (the then Chairman of ISRO). IIST Thiruvananthapuram was set up by the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) under the Department of Space, Govt. of India and A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was the Chancellor of IIST. IIST Thiruvananthapuram is ranked at 48th position in the engineering category as per NIRF rankings 2023.

IIST Thiruvananthapuram Admission 2025
IIST Thiruvananthapuram offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. The B.Tech and dual degree admissions are based on the performance of the candidate in JEE Advanced, followed by the counselling process. The M.Tech and M.S. selection process is done based on the performance of the candidate in the GATE/JEST and performance in the interview. The Ph.D admissions are done on the basis of entrance exam scores and interview. Candidates must fulfil the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology selection criteria to be eligible for admission.
