Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, which is popularly known as IIT Guwahati, is a public university for Tech. studies that was established in 1994 by the Govt. of India. It is established in Guwahati, Assam, India. IIT Guwahati is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology in India and it is officially recognised as an &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo; by the Govt. of India. It is ranked 7th on the NIRF 2023 Ranking List under the engineering category.
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati: Highlights
IIT Guwahati offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. Admission to the programmes is based on national/state-level entrance examinations. Candidates are required to register for the respective entrance examinations and appear for the examination to be eligible for admission. IIT Guwahati, has a Centre for Career Development, which manages all the placements. The IIT Guwahati placements cell sends an invitation to the recruiters and asks them to register on the placement portal of the IIT Guwahati. During the placement drive, companies visit the campus and conduct tests and interviews for the recruitment process. During the placement process, the candidates undergo six months of internship in the final semester. These internships will provide the students with an amount of exposure for the professional world. The IIT Guwahati has a campus size of 704.25 acres with a student and faculty count of 6294 and 415 respectively.
