IIT, Jammu offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral-Level courses. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria of the Institute in order to secure their admission. IIT, Jammu course admissions to the B.E/B.Tech and M.E/M.Tech is done on the basis of JEE Advanced and GATE scores respectively. The candidates also have to appear for a Written Test and Personal Interview for M.E/M.Tech admissions. Admissions to the M.Sc course is done on the basis of qualifying exam scores.

To be eligible for 2026 academic session, students are requried to qualify certain eligibility criteria's as mentioned below: 

• Undergraduate (B.Tech): Students should have qualified and acquired a rank in JEE Advanced 2026. They also have passed Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or comes under top 20 percentile in their respective boards. 
• Postgraduate (M.Tech/M.Sc): For students applying to PG courses, they must require a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD), along with a valid GATE (for M.Tech) or IIT JAM (for M.Sc) score.
• Doctoral (Ph.D.): Students must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 60% marks (6.5 CGPA). They also need to have a valid national-level qualifying score such as GATE, UGC-NET, or CSIR-NET, along with appearing for interview process to secure a PhD seat at IIT Jammu.
