National Institute of Technology, Patna which is popularly known as NIT Patna was formerly called Bihar College of Engineering, is a publicly funded institute of higher learning for engineering, science and technology. It an <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/engineering">engineering college</a>&nbsp;that was established in 1886 in Patna, Bihar, India. It is the 6th Oldest Engineering Institute of India. NIT Patna has been declared as an &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo; and has been granted an Autonomous Status by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India. It is ranked 56 in the NIRF 2023 List under the <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/btech">B.Tech college</a> category.
National Institute of Technology, Patna: Highlights
NIT Patna offers UG, PG, Integrated and Doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes is based on various national/state-level entrance examinations. Candidates are required to appear for the respective entrance examination to fulfill the NIT Patna selection criteria to be eligible for admission. The placement and training cell invites the companies to their college and helps to conduct the placement process of the company. They also help in the joining process of the selected students. The cell also prepares the candidates for the placement process. NIT Patna is situated in 36 acres of land with a student and faculty count of 2757 and 175 respectively.
