National Institute of Technology, Sikkim which is popularly known as NIT Sikkim was formerly called Regional Engineering College, Sikkim. It is an <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/engineering">engineering college</a> which is a publicly funded autonomous technical institute under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. It was founded in 2010 in Ravangla, Sikkim, India. It falls in the&nbsp; 151-200 rank band, as per NIRF 2023 rankings of <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/btech">B.Tech Colleges</a>. NIT Sikkim has been recognized as an &lsquo;Institution of National Importance&rsquo; by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India.&nbsp;
National Institute of Technology, Sikkim: Highlights
NIT Sikkim offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes in this <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges">college</a> is done based on national/state-level entrance examinations like <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/exams/joint-entrance-exam-main">JEE Main</a>, <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/exams/gate">GATE</a>, IIT JAM, etc. Candidates are required to appear for the respective <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/exams/engineering">engineering exam</a> to fulfill the NIT Sikkim selection criteria to be eligible for admission. The placement cell of NIT Sikkim has shown 100% internship opportunities to students in 2022. The placement and training cell handles all aspects of the industries and students' needs. Programmes are planned and designed to train the students for real industrial experience during the internship. The placement and counselling committee monitor all processes involved in placements. NIT Sikkim is situated on 20 acres of land with a student and faculty count of 763 and 62 respectively.
