The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is the first and largest university-based research park, but IITMRP laid the groundwork for the other Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) to develop a research park within the institutes themselves. As of 2023, there are eight IITs and IISc (Indian Institute of Science) Bangalore, which have established a research park. Given below is the list of some of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) Research Parks, along with their acreage size.

Institute Name

Acreage Size

IIT Madras

The research park of IIT Madras is spread over 11.42 acres

IIT Kharagpur
