Shai Hope's sensational hundred helped West Indies pull off a historic chase against India in the second T20I on Friday, October 9. Chasing a target of 250 runs, West Indies chased down the total in just 18.3 overs with 9 balls to spare in one of the most memorable games played on Indian soil.
With this victory, West Indies also rewrote several record books in the history of T20I cricket. Hope's unbeaten century and Sherfane Rutherford's blistering knock helped the Caribbean side achieve one of the highest successful run chases in men's T20I cricket.

After being invited to bat first, India posted a massive total of 249 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs, courtesy of Sanju Samson's powerful knock. Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma also contributed with quick-fire 40-plus scores.

The chase looked challenging for the Caribbean side, but Shai Hope's outstanding form and the impact of dew helped West Indies overcome a few early hiccups.
West Indies lost Kamil Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer in the first over itself, reducing them to 5/2. However, Hope continued his brilliant form, finding boundaries regularly and going on to score an unbeaten 102 runs off 45 deliveries, including 6 fours and 9 sixes.
