IIT Palakkad has launched a six-week residential summer internship program for undergraduate and postgraduate students, offering hands-on research experience. The program will begin in May. Selected students will have the opportunity to learn both hardware and software analysis tools, while gaining exposure to various research fields.
The internship is open to both Indian and international students who meet the eligibility criteria. However, students from IIT Palakkad are not eligible to apply, and foreign nationals studying at Indian institutions will be considered on the same terms as Indian students.
The internship application deadline is March 18, and the program will take place from May 21 to July 2025.

IIT Palakkad Internship Eligibility Requirements
- Postgraduate students, including those in the fourth and fifth years of integrated master's programs in science, engineering, and humanities.
- Students in the third and fourth years of their undergraduate studies in engineering, technology, and science fields are also eligible to apply.
IIT Palakkad Internship Application Steps
To apply, candidates must create an account on the institute's official website using a valid email address. A system-generated email containing further instructions will then be sent. Applicants who do not receive this email should contact summer-internship@iitpkd.ac.in for help.
Candidates will be selected based on their academic record, research aptitude, and how well their interests align with the research areas offered.
IIT Palakkad Internship Advantages and Assistance
- Selected candidates will be provided with financial support of Rs 8,000 per month, amounting to a total of Rs 12,000 for the entire duration of the program.
- While shared accommodation will be provided, participating students will be responsible for covering their hostel room rent and mess charges.
- Participants who successfully complete the program will receive an internship certificate.
