Double Phd Program Of IIT Roorkee and Niigata University Key Highlights 2025
The University of Niigata, Japan and IIT Roorkee, India, collaborated to launch a double PhD program, which will allow the students to pursue the degree from both universities and, at the same time, strengthen their academic collaboration. This collaboration will enhance research in key areas like climate change, AI, Robotics and more.
This collaboration will also provide the students with exceptional opportunities for research and learning experiences. It also supports student and faculty exchanges, providing access to top mentors and diverse learning experiences. This program will mainly focus on important research fields: Artificial Intelligence, renewable energy, climate change, nanotechnology, earthquake engineering, robotics, disaster management, and biotechnology.
This double Ph.D. program will offer new opportunities for students. It will help them to conduct high-quality research while also supporting the academic and scientific development of both India and Japan. Through these joint efforts, the initiative aims to address major global challenges.
