IIM Amritsar: Admission 2026, Courses, Fees, Placement & Cutoff

IIM Amritsar offers MBA, Executive MBA, Integrated B.Tech MBA and Doctoral courses. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of IIM Amritsar in order to seek admission. Candidates seeking admission to the MBA course must have completed their Bachelor’s from any recognised University and must appear for CAT exam.

Step by step IIM Amritsar course admissions 2026 process is as follows: 

• Candidates seeking admission must appear for CAT/GMAT and obtain a valid score. 
• Admission is based on the marks secured in the entrance exam and the candidates’ performance in the personal interview. 
• This is followed by the release of Cut Offs. Admission is confirmed, if the candidate satisfies all the admission requirements. 
• Thereafter, candidates must upload all the required documents on the official website of IIM Amritsar, followed by payment of fees. 

The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar provides limited scholarships to eligible students based on their performance & achievements. 

• Students with the highest CGPA in MBA, MBA-BA, and MBA-HR at the end of the first and second years are eligible for the scholarship.
• Scholarships are for the top 4 students ranked by CGPA in the MBA, MBA-BA, and MBA-HR programmes.
• The scholarship amount is the full tuition fee for the year the scholarship is awarded.
• Apart from academic performance, IIM Amritsar recognises students for their all-round achievements in various extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Several corporations have also instituted awards for IIM Amritsar students for their Academic and all-round achievements.

Admission at IIM Amritsar is entrance-based and has various parameters. For programmes like MBA, MBA BA, MBA HR, Executive MBA, PhD, IPM, and MSDSM. Entrance exams accepted by IIM Amritsar are CAT, GMAT, GRE, or GATE. Students must meet the eligibility criteria set by the Institution. 

IIM Amritsar MBA Eligibility Criteria:

The admissions process is divided into two stages: Personal Interview and Shortlisted Candidates. Candidates willing to apply for the MBA programme must have a 4 Year Graduation from any recognized institute or University and an eligible score in 10th & 12th. Candidates must appear in the CAT exam and get an appropriate score in the CAT as per the institute. 

Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examination.

IIM Amritsar PhD Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates willing to apply for the PhD programme must have a Master's degree from a recognized institute/ university with high scores. 4 Year Graduation from any recognized institute or University with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA. Candidates must appear in any of these exams: GATE, GMAT, GRE, or JRF (UGC/ CSIR) according to their specialization. 

Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examination.

IIM Amritsar MSDSM Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates willing to apply for the MSDSM programme must have 60% or 6.0CPI/CGPA or a First Class score from any recognized university in the qualifying degree.

The qualifying degree should be any accredited and approved Bachelor’s or Master’s or any other equivalent degree, preferably involving management, mathematics, computer science, or allied fields. Candidates must have a strong background in mathematics or Computer Science.
