The Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), which is part of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has set up Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) throughout India. Students from both technical and non-technical backgrounds can receive training at these institutions. Millions of students enroll in about 15,000 ITIs annually, many of whom go on to become skilled workers.

India's long-term vocational education and training (VET) system is run by the Industrial Training Institute, which was founded in the 1950s. In addition to addressing youth unemployment by providing necessary skills, education, and discipline, ITIs' main objective is to supply skilled professionals to the government and private sectors.

Under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS), ITIs provide vocational training through skill-based programs that last one or two years. These semester-based courses prepare students for professions that last a lifetime by covering a variety of industries. The training's main goal is to give students the foundational information and abilities they need to either pursue self-employment or find work as skilled or semi-skilled labourers.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Bihar ITI Colleges

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has provided a set of eligibility criteria for the aspirants who seek admission to these Industry Training Institutes in Bihar. The candidate has to give the Industry Training Institute Common Admission Test (ITICAT) to be able to get admission to these ITI colleges.

Below is the list of eligibility criteria for admission to Industry Training Institutes of Bihar:-

A candidate must have cleared class 10th from a recognised board and must be a citizen of India.
A candidate must be at least of 14 years of age, and for some trade the minimum age requirement is 17 years of age.
A candidate must be physically and medically fit.
