Key Highlights of India Squad
Sanju Samson has returned to the side after missing the Zimbabwe tour. Young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also retained his place in the team. It will be interesting to see the opening combination with Samson’s return and Abhishek Sharma in team.
In a concerning development, Hardik Pandya still remains out of international cricket due to injury concerns. The all-rounder last played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians in May. Despite his absence, India have plenty of options in the all rounder department with Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar.
In the pace department, all eyes will be on Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana as they await fitness clearance. Arshdeep Singh will also lead the pace attack alongside them.
Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy era began with back to back series defeats against Ireland and England. However, the side bounced back against Zimbabwe winning its first T20I series under Iyer and they will be continue that form.
