Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya	Chhattisgarh	It was first a state university, which was then converted to a Central University by the Central Universities Act, 2009.
Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya	Madhya Pradesh	It was formerly known as the University of Sagour and was established on 18th July 1946. It was also a state university, which was later converted to Central University.
Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University	Uttarakhand	The HNBGU was converted to a Central University on January 15, 2009, by an Act of Parliament. The University has thus been entrusted with new responsibilities to guide its students, faculty and all other stakeholders to achieve excellence in academics and strive for the all-round development of the students.
Indira Gandhi National Tribal University	Madhya Pradesh	The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, was established by an Act of the Parliament of India. It came into existence through the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007, and came into operation on July 8, 2008. The University caters to the tribal’s long-cherished dream of higher education.
Central University of Andhra Pradesh	Andhra Pradesh	The Central University of Andhra Pradesh holds a special place in the Indian University system. The establishment of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh heralds a new era in the sphere of higher education.
Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University	Telangana	Established in 2023 under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (SSCTU) is India’s dedicated initiative to empower tribal communities through quality education, training and access to research.
Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh	Andhra Pradesh	Central University of Andhra Pradesh holds a special place in the Indian University System. The University was established in 2018 in the district headquarters town of Anantapuramu in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.
Mahatama Gandhi Central University	Bihar	Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) came into existence by an Act of Parliament, the Central Universities (Amendment) Act 2014. The University became functional on 3rd February 2016.
Sindhu Central University	Ladakh	This university was established by an Act of Parliament, 2009, in the UT of Ladakh. The university campus will be established on 110 acres of land at the village of Khaltsi, situated between Leh and Ladakh.
