The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) had officially released the notification for the conduct of the Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test (AP LAWCET) and Andhra Pradesh Postgraduate Law Common Entrance Test  (PGLCET) 2026. These state-level examinations facilitate admissions into undergraduate (LL.B., which is of three years and five yearsintegrated) and postgraduate (LL.M) law programs, which are offered by various participating colleges and universities across Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2026-27.

As per the official notification of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), the registration process will commence from February 12, 2026, and the exam will be conducted by the Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati,  and the exam will be conducted on May 4, 2026.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for AP LAWCET and PGLCET 2026?

For the academic year 2026-2027, the Andhra Pradesh Postgraduate Law Common Entrance Test (PGLCET) and the Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) for undergraduate law programs offered by various affiliated colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh have given certain eligibility criteria. Given below is the eligibility criteria for admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate law programs:-

  • A candidate should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Three-Year LL.B Program

  • Candidates appearing for this program must have a graduate degree (10+2+3 pattern) from a recognised university or any other relevant university deemed equivalent.

  • A candidate belonging to the general category must have scored at least 45%, 42% for the OBC category, and 40% in the SC and ST categories.

Five-Year LL.B Program

  • Candidates appearing for the APPGLCET must have completed two years of Intermediate Examination (10+2) pattern or any other comparable test approved by the recognised university or the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh.

  • A candidate belonging to the general category must have scored at least 45% marks, 42% marks for the OBC category, and 40% marks for the SC and ST category students.

Two-Year LL.M. Program

  • Candidates appearing for PGLCET to seek admission to this program must have a three-year or a five-year LL.B degree on the application registration date, as well as those who have taken or will take the exam are also eligible to apply.

  • Those candidates who are appearing for the final-year exams are also eligible.
