The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has revealed the introduction of its MSc in Biochemistry (MSCBCH) programme, starting in the January 2025 admission cycle.
This course offers a comprehensive understanding of biochemistry, while also equipping students with the skills required for teaching, advanced research, and various industrial applications.
The MSCBCH programme offers a flexible duration, extending from a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 4 years. Comprising 80 credits, the course is taught entirely in English and is designed for a diverse group of eligible candidates.

Course Eligibility
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Science, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Nursing, or Medical Laboratory Technology. Medical graduates are also eligible if they have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their higher secondary education (10+2).
There is no age limit, making the programme accessible to all aspiring biochemists. The annual fee for the course is ₹36,200.
The MSCBCH programme is designed to develop a strong foundation in the fundamentals of biochemistry.
