SASTRA University offers course admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. Admission to the courses is both merit and entrance-based. The B.Tech and Integrated M.Tech admissions are done based on the performance of candidates in JEE Mains and 10 + 2 scores. The selection process for law courses is done based on the performance in CLAT examination. The CAT/XAT/AIMAT/CMAT/AIMCAT scores are considered for M.B.A. admissions while GATE scores are considered for M.Tech admissions. Candidates aspiring for admission to Ph.D. courses are required to appear for an entrance examination followed by an interview round.

The candidates qualifying for UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/GATE/UPSC competitive exams will be exempted from an entrance examination conducted by the university; however, they have to appear for the interview. SASTRA University Admission 2026 

SASTRA Deemed University admission is based on the national-level entrance exam scores such as JEE Main, CAT, CUET etc. Candidates meeting eligibility can fill out the application form to be considered for admission. 

Step 1: Filling up of SASTRA University Application Form 2026

Candidates first need to register themselves on the university's website for the preferred course by filling out the details and uploading documents. Candidates also need to submit their entrance exam or qualifying exam scores in the online form. 

Step 2: Selection

Candidates who will fulfil the eligibility criteria in order of merit will be eligible for admission.  The university accepts JEE Main for BTech, CLAT for UG Law courses and CAT, XAT, AIMAT, etc. for MBA. For most of the other UG and PG courses, selection is merit-based. The university conducts entrance test for PhD course. Aspirants with scores in UGC-NET, GATE, etc. are exempted from appearing for the test. They only need to pass the personal interview round for admission.

Step 3: Counselling

The university conducts counselling for the finally shortlisted candidates to allot seats. The seats are allotted based on entrance exam or merit of the candidates.
