Data science and artificial intelligence are not just a future catchphrase which are associated with Silicon Valley businesses and research labs; instead, they are influencing students’ engineering major choices after they completed their Class 12th. The need for engineers who are knowledgeable about data, algorithms, and intelligent systems has increased, from recommendation systems on various platforms to AI-driven diagnostics in healthcare.
Any aspirant who is appearing for the JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exams and qualifies for the exam and wants to pursue their career and higher education in the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science field has a very particular question, i.e.,
‘Which IITs offer Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Courses at the B.Tech level?’
The computer science and engineering (CSE) branch ruled the Indian Institutes of Technology for many years. Instead of limiting these fields to electives or postgraduate study, IITs have started offering specialised undergraduate programs in response to industry demands for skilled professionals with a skill set in the following areas like;
-
Machine Learning
-
AI ethics
-
Automation
-
Computational Intelligence
-
Big Data Analytics
Which IITs offer Data Science and AI Courses at the B.Tech Level?
As of 2026, specific Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs in artificial intelligence and data science are offered in a very few Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). These courses are intended to satisfy the increasing need in the industry for experts in intelligent systems, machine learning and big data. Several IITs offer a four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
Whereas some of the Indian Institutes of Technology offer alternatives to the conventional B.Tech curriculum. Given below is the list of the Indian Institutes of Technology, which offer Data Science and Artificial Intelligence courses at the B.Tech level:-
| Names of IITs | Courses Offered |
