IIM Mumbai: Admission 2026, Courses, Fees, Placement & Cutoff

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Mumbai offers course admissions to postgraduate and doctoral courses. Candidates can apply for the IIM Mumbai admission after fulfiling the eligibility criteria. Admission to the courses will be done on the basis of the marks scored in the GATE/CAT/GMAT/ GRE/UGC-JRF examination. Further, candidates have to appear for a personal interview round. Seat allotment, document verification and fee payment is the last step of the IIM Mumbai admissions. 

Step-by-step application process:

1. Candidates are required to register for the respective entrance examination as per the desired course.
2. Selected candidates will be then called for a personal interview and counselling round.
3. Final admission is done after the verification of documents and payment of fees.

IIM Mumbai scholarships are offered to deserving and meritorious students after various checks. The institution provides financial support in the form of a tuition fee waiver for students of various courses or programmes. Here is the detailed scholarship chart given below: 

These Scholarships are provided to students in two ways

• Scholarship offered by IIM Mumbai.
• Scholarship offered by the Indian Government.

Here are the details of the scholarship offered by IIM Mumbai: 

• Scholarship Type 1 

IIM Mumbai Scholarship Type 1 is provided to students who have taken admission in postgraduate programs, whose total family income is below INR 2.50 lakhs. They get a Tuition fee waiver of 30%.

• Scholarship Type 2 

IIM Mumbai Scholarship Type 2 is provided to students who have taken admission in postgraduate programs, whose total family income is below INR 1 lakh. They get a Tuition fee waiver of 50%.

• Teaching Assistantship 

IIM Mumbai offers a Teaching Assistantship to GATE qualifiers with INR 12,400 per month and contingency as per rules.

Here are the details if Scholarship offered by the Indian Government:

According to the Government scheme, only SC/ ST students are granted the Central Sector Scholarship.

• Central Sector Scholarship- Top Class Education Schemes for SC students

This scholarship is offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment to SC students. It is provided based on their annual parental income for the previous year. 

Candidates interested in applying for this scholarship should have a gross family income of less than INR 8,00,000.

• Central Sector Scholarship- Top Class Education Schemes for ST students

This scholarship is offered to ST students. It is provided based on their annual parental income for the previous year. 

Candidates interested in applying for this scholarship should have a gross family income of less than INR 8,00,000.

IIM Mumbai has some eligibility guidelines for admission. CAT is compulsory for students who are willing to apply to IIM Mumbai. Students must have 50% marks in a Bachelor’s degree. Final-year students are eligible to apply if they expect to complete graduation before joining IIM Mumbai. The minimum cutoff for shortlisting will be higher based on the applicants in each category. The total fees for MBA are INR 25 lakhs, and for NRI quota, the fees are INR 50 Lakhs.
