Assam's State Government Polytechnics offer three-year diplomas in Engineering and Technology. Polytechnics that provide diploma programs in Engineering and Technology are connected with the State Council of Technical Education(SCTE) in Assam and are authorised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The registration for admission to the state government polytechnics of Assam concluded on June 7, 2025. Now the candidates await the dates of counselling and admission to these institutions, which have yet to be declared by the official authority. This article discusses the list of Asaam Polytechnic Institutes and their location, along with the course-wise seat intake and the fees for admission to these institutions.

The candidates who have registered for admission to the Diploma courses in Engineering and Technology offered by the State Government Polytechnics of Assam should have cleared the HSLC exam, as the admission to these institutions is based on the marks obtained in this examination. At present the total number of state polytechnics operating in the state of Assam are 26.

Courses and Seat Intake of Assam Polytechnics
The State Government Polytechnics of Assam offers admission to three-year diploma degree in engineering and technology courses or specialisation. The admission to these polytechnics are based on the HSLC exam and the marks obtained in this exam. Some of the specialisations offered by these polytechnics for the diploma degrees are civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, chemical engineering, instrumentation technology, etc.
