Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, conducted the Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test, also known as AP LAWCET and PGLCET, for the academic year 2025-26 on behalf of the A.P. State Council of Higher Education.

This exam supports students seeking admission to the first year of five-year and three-year LL.B. courses, as well as LL.M. postgraduate law programmes. According to the official notification, the final answer key for the AP LAWCET and AP PGLCET 2025 exams was released on June 16, 2025, with official results to be announced on June 22, 2025 (tentatively). The APLAWCET and PGLCET scorecards and results were released on June 19, 2025, and are available for download on the official website.

The counselling procedure for admissions to colleges offering three-year and five-year LL.B courses, as well as two-year LL.M courses, will commence soon after the results are announced. Eligibility Criteria for Admission through AP LAWCET and PG LCET

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education has established a set of eligibility requirements for admission to the state's various colleges that offer LL.B. and LL.M. programmes. The following is a list of eligibility criteria that a candidate must meet for admission to the law courses:-

Eligibility for Admission to  Three-Year LL.B. Course

Here is the list of the eligibility criteria required for admission to the three-year LL.B. course offered by the various colleges of the state of Andhra Pradesh:-

  • A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • A candidate belonging to the general category must have at least secured 45% marks in the bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • A candidate belonging to the OBC category must have at least secured 42% marks in the bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • A candidate belonging to the SC and ST category must have at least secured 40% marks in the bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • Scores like 44.5%, 41.5%, and 39.5% will be rounded up and accepted as 45%, 42%, and 40% for respective categories.
  • If the candidate has lower marks in graduation, they must have the required percentage in another graduation or postgraduation degree.

Eligibility for Admission to Five-Year LL.B. Course

Here is the list of the eligibility criteria required for admission to the five-year LL.B. course offered by the various colleges of the state of Andhra Pradesh:-

  • A candidate must have cleared class 12th or any other equivalent exam from a recognised board.
  • A candidate belonging to the general category must have at least secured 45% marks in the bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • A candidate belonging to the OBC category must have at least secured 42% marks in the bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • A candidate belonging to the SC and ST category must have at least secured 40% marks in the bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

  • A candidate must have a three-year or a five-year LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
  • A candidate who appeared in the final exam of LL.B is also eligible.
  • A candidate must pass the qualifying exam before admission or counselling for the LL.M. course.
