Management Aptitude Test Key Highlights 2025

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level entrance exam started in 1988 to help business schools (B-Schools) select students for MBA and related programs. The Ministry of Education, under the Government of India, officially recognised MAT as a national-level test in 2003. MAT has been updated with a modern exam format, refined content, and a shorter duration. It is one of the largest entrance exams in the country and serves as a gateway to admission in over 600 business schools across India.

The MAT exam is very comparable to other MBA entry exams. It assesses candidates based on quantitative ability, logical reasoning, data interpretation, English language proficiency, and general awareness. The MAT admissions process follows a similar approach, with personality evaluations such as a personal interview, group discussion, and written ability test.

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) has rolled out the dates for the examination, registration, and availability of the admit card on its official website. The MAT will conduct the exam in two modes: paper-based and computer-based. Registration for the paper-based test will conclude on May 25, 2025, and the admit card will be made available to the students appearing for the exam on May 28, 2025. The MAT exam in paper-based mode will be conducted on May 31, 2025.

The computer-based test of the Management Aptitude Test will conclude its registration process on June 2, 2025, and the admit card will be made available to the candidates appearing for the computer-based test of the MAT from June 5, 2025. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 8, 2025. For details on the test cities, candidates are advised to visit the official website.
