National Institute of Technology (NIT), Delhi

The central library of the institute was located in Dwarka to facilitate access to information and resources to students and faculty. The central library shifted to the main campus in Narela in 2014. All the students and faculty members have access to the services and facilities of the central library. It has a rich collection of books and growing rapidly in terms of number and type of collection to meet the educational needs of the students. It also offers a reading room facility to the students.

The campus has eight laboratories namely Integrated Electronics and Communication Lab, Engineering Drawing Lab (under development), Physics Lab, Electronic Design and Automation Lab (equipped with 12 Pcs), Basic Electrical and Electronics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Programming Lab Computer Lab I (equipped with 45 i7 Pcs), Computer Lab II (equipped with 30 i7 Pcs). The laboratories are being used by the students for conducting research, experiments and measurements.

The cafeteria at the campus serves healthy and hygienic food and beverages to the student, faculty and staff members. The cafeteria is equipped with the facilities latest kitchen appliances in the canteen, facility of water coolers with RO, curtain provision and stainless steel furniture including insect killer.

The campus has a gymnasium for the students so that they can be physically fit and healthy.

The campus has a spacious auditorium for conducting events, programmes and seminars of the institute.

NIT Delhi campus facilities include Hostel, Hospital, Gym, Library, Sports, IT Infrastructure, Cafeteria, Auditorium, Transport, Wifi, Classrooms, Laboratories, etc. Given below is a detailed description about the NIT Delhi Infrastructure and Facilities:

The campus provides an accommodation facility to the outstation students. The boys hostel is located on the main campus in Narela with an accommodating capacity of 150 students. Also, a bus facility is available for the convenience of students.

The campus has a separate hostel for girls located at Rohini, Delhi. Currently, the girls hostel has extended the boarding facility to 150 students. The students can also avail the benefit of transportation facility.

The institute provides medical facilities to its students, staff and faculty members. The campus has a healthcare centre where all the medical needs are taken care of.

The campus offers indoor and outdoor games such as a basketball court with floodlights, a football court, cricket cemented pitch with nets, chess, caroms, table tennis etc.

The computer centre is equipped with the latest technological resources. The centre has wifi connectivity to provide students with High speed (single mode) fibre backbone, managed by Layer 4 switches providing 500 Mbps (1:1) bandwidth Speed.

The institute provides a free transport facility to the students from Narela to Rohini.

NIT Delhi has good networking for the alumni association.

The entire campus is wifi enabled with high-speed internet connectivity.

The NIT classroom is a blend of traditional learning methods to help students with the skills and knowledge they need in every way of life. The classrooms are structured in such a way to fulfill all the requirements of the students. The classrooms are equipped with electric projectors and nine classrooms are equipped with multimedia projectors facility of electronic notice board capable to derive electronic wall in IP camera surveillance e-podium with the facility of audio-video recording.
