Rajasthan SET 2026: Anger flared up at an examination centre in Jaipur after candidates protested and went on a boycott of the test following a delay of 30 minutes in the distribution of the question paper in the Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (RSET) 2026. The issue took place in the morning shift on Sunday and sparked outrage among hundreds of candidates who had come from different districts to sit in the prestigious lectureship test at the state level.
As per the candidates’ account, the test was supposed to begin at 10:00 AM sharp. Invigilators, however, could not distribute question papers and OMR sheets on time, owing to administrative delays and missing seal-verification protocol. Candidates, therefore, grew furious with the situation, as no official reason or time compensation guarantee was provided by the center authorities when the clock struck past 10:30 AM. Many candidates left the hall to gather in front of the center to shout slogans against the organizing body and demand a full-fledged re-test. Local police and officers from the administration of the district reached the location to help restore order in the area. While the exam coordinators were trying to make the candidates take their seats with the promise of extra time, most of the candidates declined to participate, stating that the integrity of the exam was at stake.

30-minute Delay: The examination was supposed to take place between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM at 429 centres located in Rajasthan. However, the exam could not begin on time due to late distribution of the question papers (nearly at 11:30 AM).
Mismanagement Allegations: Students have accused organizers of giving multiple excuses about 5 to 10 minutes delay in beginning the exam. It was also alleged that untrained staff was assigned the responsibility of invigilators.
Students Protest & Boycott: In protest against such actions and in an expression of dissatisfaction regarding the dual standard set by the institution, students opted to boycott the exam and hold a protest outside.
Re-Examination Order by Authorities: As per the organizers at Kota University, the reason behind the delay in beginning the exam was a traffic jam in transport. With the involvement of local police, an order was issued to conduct a re-examination for 1,008 students.
