The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has clarified that a question paper being circulated on social media is fake. The board said the individual who allegedly created the AI-generated fake paper has been identified and that the matter has been reported to the Cyber Crime Police and District Police for strict legal action.
The clarification came after a purported question paper was circulated online, showing a different question at serial number 37. The question in the fake document was presented as part of an examination paper. BSEB said the circulated document is misleading and does not represent the original examination material.
According to the board, the fake document was generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the alleged intention of creating confusion regarding the conduct of the examination and damaging the image of the committee.
“The Bihar School Examination Committee hereby refutes this fake, misleading, and incorrect news. The question asked in serial number 37 is displayed in the original mark sheet. The question marked at serial number 37 in the fake mark sheet is AI-generated, whose purpose is to create confusion in the conduct of the examination and to tarnish the image of the committee,” the board said in a post on X.
BSEB further stated that the person responsible for generating the AI-based fake question paper has been identified. The board has informed the Cyber Crime Police as well as the District Police and requested strict legal action against the individual.
“This effort is reflected. The individual who generated the said AI-generated fake question paper has been identified, and Cyber Crime Police as well as the District Police have been informed for strict legal action,” the board said.
The board also appealed to people not to circulate the fake document further. It asked social media users who may have shared the document to remove it from their respective handles to prevent the misleading information from spreading further.
“All individuals are requested not to forward this and to delete it from their social media pages,” BSEB said.
The board’s clarification comes amid the increasing circulation of digitally altered and AI-generated content on social media. Such fabricated documents can create confusion among students and other stakeholders, particularly when they appear to resemble official examination material.
BSEB has therefore urged students and the public to rely on official announcements and information issued through the board’s authorised channels for examination-related updates.
