The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has increased Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination fees by 5 per cent for the 2026–27 academic year. The revised charges will apply to regular students appearing for the Class 10 examinations for the first time, as well as private and repeat candidates.
As per a circular issued on September 10, the examination fee for first-time SSLC candidates has been raised from Rs. 710 to Rs. 746. The revision follows the annual fee-increase mechanism applicable to the board examinations and is intended to account for the expenses involved in conducting the examinations.

Why Has Karnataka Increased SSLC Examination Fees?
The fee revision has been introduced to meet the expenditure associated with conducting the SSLC examinations. These expenses include the administrative arrangements and other requirements involved in organising examinations across the state.
The latest increase follows the previous revision for the 2025-26 academic year, when the examination fee for first-time candidates was raised from Rs. 676 to Rs. 710. The latest adjustment brings the fee to ₹746 for candidates appearing for the first time in 2026-27.
What Should SSLC Candidates Know?
Students preparing for the Karnataka SSLC examinations should take note of the revised fee structure while completing their examination registration formalities. Private candidates and those reappearing for selected subjects should check the applicable category and subject-wise charges before making payment.
Candidates and schools should refer to official notifications issued by KSEAB for registration instructions, payment deadlines and other examination-related updates. The revised fee schedule applies to the 2026-27 academic year.
