Ladakh MBBS BDS Admission 2026: The Ladakh administration has revised the admission guidelines for MBBS and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) seats allotted to the Union Territory under the Central Pool. The changes have been introduced following the creation of seven new districts in Ladakh.
The revised guidelines were issued by the Health and Medical Education Department with the approval of Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena. Under the new system, candidates will now be considered through a single merit list instead of the category-based roster system used earlier.

Single Merit List for Central Pool Medical Seats
Under the earlier system introduced in 2021, candidates were considered under separate categories, including reserved and unreserved candidates, Leh and Kargil districts, and male and female candidates.
The revised guidelines discontinue these separate categories and the roster system. A single merit list will now be prepared irrespective of a candidate's domicile district, sex or reserved/unreserved status.
Admissions to the allotted medical and dental colleges will be based strictly on NEET merit or ranking and the choices submitted by eligible candidates.
Seven MBBS, Two BDS Seats Allotted for 2026-27
For the 2026-27 academic session, the Centre has allotted seven MBBS seats and two BDS seats to Ladakh under the Central Pool.
The seven MBBS seats have been allotted to Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi; LLRM Medical College, Meerut; Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi; RSDKS Government Medical College, Ambikapur; Dumka Medical College, Jharkhand; MLB Medical College, Jhansi; and Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College, Durg.
The two BDS seats have been allotted to KG Dental College, Lucknow, and Government Dental College, Indore.
Seven-Day Application Window
Eligible candidates with a valid NEET ranking will be provided seven days to apply for the Central Pool MBBS and BDS seats through the official Ladakh NIC portal.
The revised process is intended to replace the earlier district-, gender- and category-based allocation system with a common merit-based mechanism.
What Changes for Ladakh NEET Aspirants?
The major change for candidates is the introduction of a single merit list. Applicants will no longer be considered through separate rosters based on domicile district, gender or reserved/unreserved status under these Central Pool seats.
The final allotment will depend on the candidate's NEET ranking and the preferences submitted during the application process.
