What Will Change With New CBT Mode in NEET UG?

With the new exam mode in picture, candidates preparing for NEET UG 2027 should know that instead of receiving an OMR sheet for answers, candidates will have to mark answers on the computer screen and select answers.

Exam conducting authority, National Testing Agency (NTA) is looking for digital exam centres for smoothly conducting the exam.

How to Prepare for NEET CBT Mode?

Candidates should follow the tips below to prepare for NEET CBT mode of examination:

  • Practice solving questions on a screen: Students should start practicing question and sample paper on the screen. Take on-screen NEET mock tests to practice screen based tests. Students should start practicing answering MCQs using a computer or a laptop and get comfortable with on screen reading.
  • Practice timed NEET mock tests: Candidates should practice and solve mock tests in timed conditions. Regular practice will help students make better choice on the exam day. They can start with sectional mock tests and eventually move to full length mock tests.
  • Navigating between questions: Unlike an OMR examination, CBT allows candidates to interact with questions directly on the screen. Students should become comfortable with features such as moving between questions, reviewing unanswered questions and changing an answer, depending on the interface eventually provided by NTA.
  • Once reliable NEET UG 2027 CBT mocks become available, students should attempt them under conditions similar to NEET 2027. This includes sitting continuously for the prescribed duration, avoiding distractions and completing the paper within the allotted time.
  • The change in mode of exam can seem difficult, especially for students who are accustomed to solving papers on paper. Students who begin practising on computers well in advance can have an upper hand in solving on screen question papers.
