Maharashtra Schools: As per the reports, Maharashtra Education Minister for Schools, Varsha Gaikwad has indicated the possibility of shutting schools again. Talking about the threat of Omicron cases in Maharashtra, state Education Minister for School, Varsha Gaikwad has said, “If Omicron cases continue to rise, we may take a call to shut the schools again. We are monitoring the situation.” However, as of now, there is no official announcement regarding the closing down of schools.
Maharashtra Schools Reopened Recently
Recently on 1st December, most of the schools in Maharashtra reopened. Physical classes for schools in the western state resumed from the first day of the month for standards 1-7 in the urban areas and 1-4 in the rural areas. Whereas for Mumbai, schools started from 15th December 2021. Schools in Maharashtra have been running in shifts of three to four hours and students are been called in groups, as a precautionary measure to mitigate the spread of coronavirus.
Maharashtra government had decided to reopen schools after a survey conducted by the state’s school education department which stated that more than 70% parents want schools to be reopened. While announcing the reopening of schools, Varsha Gaikwad said, school authorities will ensure that only 15 to 20 students are accommodated in a classroom.
Maharashtra Omicron Cases
As per the media reports, Delhi and Maharashtra are at the top of the list for Omicron cases. Of the total caseload of 213 Omicron cases in the country, Maharashtra has reported 54, second only to the national capital, Delhi which has 57. The worrying rise of Omicron cases, both in India and countries abroad has worried the government.
Maharashtra SSC, HSC Date Sheet 2022
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has released the Maharashtra SSC, HSC datesheet 2022. As per the 10th, 12th schedule the exams will be held across March and April 2022. SSC exams will be held from 15th March to 4th April 2022. Whereas, the HSC exams will be held from 4th to 22nd March 2022.
