What Is Question Cum Answer Booklet (QCAB) Format?
Question Cum Answer Booklet (QCAB) format is basically an integrated format in which the question paper and answer booklet are combined into a single booklet, especially for the descriptive mode of examination. The Integrated booklet provides the candidates sufficient and adequate space directly beneath each question for candidates to write their answers. Such a format remains very useful and easy in digital evaluation support in marking, and hence it is very useful for the evaluation process easier using an On-Screen Marking System (Digital Evaluation). This system aligns with the exam patterns used by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and other state public service commissions.
Availability of Specimen Answer Booklets
To make the candidates familiar with the newly launched Question Cum Answer Booklet (QCAB) format, the MPSC will publish a sample booklet to help candidates familiarize themselves with the new format before the exam. The booklet will keep the candidates familiar with the QCAB format and guide to use in the forthcoming examination. The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is set to conduct the State Services (Rajyaseva) Main Examination 2026 on October 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 17, 18, 31, and November 1, 2026. It is noted that the upcoming Main Examination will be conducted in descriptive mode and the Commission is set to launch QCABs for all candidates appearing in the descriptive State Services Main Examination 2026.
