NEET UG Reservation Policy: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) manages the central reservation policy for undergraduate medical, dental, and nursing admissions in the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in state government medical colleges as well as 100% seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities, and ESIC colleges. In this context, 15% of seats will be reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) aspirants, 7.5% of seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) aspirants, 27% of seats for OBCs falling in the Central List, and 10% for GEN-EWS applicants.
Moreover, there will be a 5% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) certified by designated medical assessment boards in all categories. To qualify for benefits of category-wise seats, students need to produce certificates that comply with criteria laid down by the Central Government. In contrast, admission through the 85% state quota in state government and private colleges takes place as per State/Union Territory-wise reservation policies.
