NLSIU Fellowship 2027 applications are now open at the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru. The university has invited researchers to apply for three fellowship programmes for the January 2027 intake. The fellowships are open to researchers at different stages of their academic and professional careers. All positions are offered on a contract basis. They support research in law and also in social sciences, public policy and allied disciplines. The last date to apply is October 30 until 5 pm. Applications must be submitted through the Google Form given on the official website nls.ac.in.
NLSIU Fellowship 2027 Eligibility Criteria
The graduate research fellowship is open to candidates who hold a graduate degree in law. A postgraduate degree in social sciences, public policy or allied disciplines also works.
For the postdoctoral fellowship applicants need a PhD in law social sciences public policy or allied disciplines. The degree must be awarded within the past three years. Candidates who already held a postdoctoral position at another university cannot apply.
The university research fellowship needs a recognised PhD. Applicants must have at least 10 years of teaching or relevant professional experience. A strong publication record is also required.
NLSIU Fellowship 2027 Vacancies
Ten positions are open under the graduate research fellowship. The postdoctoral fellowship has five vacancies. Five more positions are available under the university research fellowship. That makes 20 seats in total.
Shortlisted candidates must stay on the NLSIU campus in Bengaluru during the fellowship. The university may allow some flexibility in campus presence. Such cases are decided one by one.
NLSIU Fellowship 2027 Stipend Details
The starting monthly remuneration for the graduate research fellowship is Rs 50000. The postdoctoral fellowship pays Rs 120000 per month. The university research fellowship offers Rs 200000 per month.
