RML Hospital MBBS: The country has been struggling to find the doctors of good quality. The growing population of the country and the lack of proper medical facilities make it difficult to cope up with the issues that come by us with each passing day. The government has been trying to make all the possible efforts so that the medical facilities can be extended to all those who need it. The number of seats in the MBBS course has been increased by the government and things will change soon. The government is of the view that medical facilities must reach every citizen and to achieve that goal it is needed that there are enough doctors in the country.
In order to make for the lack of medical seats in the country, new medical colleges have been opened up but it seems that even that do not fit to our growing need. Therefore, the Union Health Ministry has permitted the Centre-run Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital to start an MBBS course. It has been said that the MBBS course will be started with 100 seats initially. The admission will be granted for the academic session 2019-20. When contacted, one of the senior officials at the hospital said that the course will initially have 100 seats and soon 50 more will be added. It is interesting to note that RML hospital has the necessary infrastructure and the faculty to start the course.
In a letter that is addressed to the Medical Superintendent of RML hospital Dr V K Tiwari, it is mentioned from the official, "I am directed to convey the approval of the Competent Authority for starting of MBBS course with intake of 100 seats at the PGIMER and Dr RML hospital from the Academic session 2019-20." With the approval of the authority, it is certain that the course will be helpful in making up for the shortage of the doctors in the time to come.
