The All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) was rescheduled on May 1, Sunday as the paper had been leaked and was being sold in the open market. While some centres delayed the exam by 3 hours, others opted to conduct the examination on May 8. The leaked papers were found by Special Task Force of Lucknow who further informed the CBSE officials.
Special Task Force (STF) broke the news of paper leak at around 7.30 am in the morning after which the real and leaked papers were matched by the CBSE officials. The leaked papers were sold for Rs 6 lakh per copy.
AIEEE exams are held in two parts: Bachelors of Engineering and Bachelors of Architecture. The exam was scheduled at 9.30 am for the first paper and 2 pm for the second paper. The STF alert led to the delay of exam- the first paper began at noon and the second paper was conducted at 4pm. Since the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) exam was also scheduled for the same day, some centres preferred conducting the exam on May 8.
AIEEE conducts the largest Engineering Entrance Exam for admission to more than 26000 seats. Nearly 12 lakh students from across the nation were taking this exam at over 1,600 centres in more than 80 cities on Sunday.
