CSAB Special Counselling 2018: Seats Filling Rounds for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs
The Central Seat Allocation Board has released the counselling schedule for of two special vacant seats filling rounds for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Check complete schedule in this article.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts 7 rounds of counselling for allocation of seats at the IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. After these seven rounds, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) organizes two special vacant seats filling rounds for all the vacant seats left in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs after JoSAA Counselling. Students willing to upgrade seats allotted to them (only for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs) in any of the seven round of JoSAA counselling, can register on the official website of CSAB i.e., csab.nic.in to participate in special round counselling. Any student who is eligible for JoSAA 2018 (whether participated or not) can participate in special vacant seats filling rounds conducted by CSAB. The Central Seat Allocation Board has released the counselling schedule for of two special vacant seats filling rounds. All candidates who were eligible for JoSAA as per JEE Main 2018 Rank will be eligible for CSAB Special Round 2018.

CSAB Special Round 2018: Counselling Procedure
1 Registration:
After the payment of special round participation fee, all eligible candidates will have to register online on the web portal of CSAB i.e., csab.nic.in.
2 Choice Filling and Choice Locking:
After the registration and fee payment, candidates can choose institutes/ branches in order of their preference (only for NITs/IIITs/GFTIs).
3 Seat Allotment:
The seats will be allotted to candidates on basis of their preferences, ranks and availability of seats by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
4 Reporting at Allotted Institute:
Candidates after getting a seat through CSAB Special Round 2018 will have to report at the allotted for document verification and admission process.
About Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB):
CSAB is an agency constituted by the Ministry of HRD. It is entrusted with the responsibility of admission for the various undergraduate courses offered by the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs or Triple-I-Ts) and a few other technical Institutes funded fully or partially by Central or a State government (Other-GFTIs). These Institutes are collectively referred to as NIT+ Institutes.
