As per the revised exam calendar released by the Staff Selection Commission on 12 July 2018, SSC Stenographer 2018 Notification announcement and commencement of online application dates are changed. Now the SSC Steno 2018 Notification will be released on 29 September 2018 and online application will continue till 22 October 2018.

Earlier, SSC Stenographer 2018 Notification for Grade C & D Posts was delayed from the scheduled date of announcement on 07 July 2018. While there is no updated available at the Commission's website ssc.nic.in, lacs of candidates are searching for the official notificiation of SSC Stenographer 2018 exam as per the official SSC Exam Calender 2018.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is all set to invite applications for Steno Grade C & D post. The eligible candidates can apply to the post through the prescribed format on or before 22 October 2018. Earlier, the official notification was expected to be released on 07 July 2018. Candidates who want to appear for this examination can check the official site.

Earlier, the examination for SSC Steno Grade C & D 2018 was scheduled from from 04 to 08 of September 2018, but as per new notification, the exam dates are yet to be notified. In a notice released by the Commission, the dates of examination are mentioned along with tentative date of admit card and date for skill test. The examination will be conducted for 2 hours and will consists of 200 marks. The subjects included in the examination are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension.

Candidates who have cleared Class 12 and fall under the age group of 18-27 Years can apply for the same. The selection process of SSC Steno Grade C & D includes computer based examination, skill test followed by document verification.

Selection Procedure for SSC Stenographer 2018

Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Examination. Candidates who qualify in the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Computer Based Examination. Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.

Skill Test in Stenography:

Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Examination as may be prescribed by the Commission will only be called for the Skill Test. Commission may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part of Examination. The skill test will be of qualifying nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the skill test for different categories of candidates. The candidates will have to appear for the stenography test. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on compute.

The transcription time is as follows:-

•    For Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 50 minutes (English), 65 minutes (Hindi)

•    For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 40 minutes (English) 55 Minutes (Hindi)

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) invited applications for Stenographers (Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’) Examination 2017, for recruitment to the post of Stenographer Grade C (Group B Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade D (Group C Non-Gazetted).   • Application Fee- Rs. 100/- (Non-refundable)
  • SC/ST/Women/PH/Ex-Servicemen – No Fee

Mode of Payment- Fee can be paid through SBI Challan / SBI Net banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank.

How to Apply for SSC, Stenographer Grade C & D Posts

Interested candidates can apply online from 17 June 2017 to 15 July 2017. Only one online application is allowed to be submitted by a candidate for recruitment to the post of Stenographer Grade C & D Examination 2017. Candidates are advised to take a print out of finally submitted online application for future reference. Candidates must bring 3 passport size colour photographs. Candidates not carrying photographs will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
