The Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) Election Result 2026 has been announced, bringing the counting process for the four central panel posts to an end. The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won the posts of President, Secretary and Joint Secretary positions while the post of Vice-President was secured by Deepanshu Shokeen, a former National Studentss Union of India (NSU) member.

ABVP’s Yash Dabas has won the DUSU President post, defeating NSUI candidate Vijay Shankar Meena. Dabas finished ahead of Meena in the final result.

Winning margin: 2,053 votes
DUSU Vice-President Election Result 2026
Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen has won the Vice-President post. Shokeen finished well ahead of his closest contender, ABVP’s Ishu Maurya.
Winner: Deepanshu Shokeen (Independent) — 30,615 votes
Runner-up: Ishu Maurya (ABVP) - 16,910 votes
Third: Virr Chatrath (NSUI) - 4,313 votes
Winning margin: 13,705 votes
DUSU Secretary Election Result 2026
ABVP’s Riya Chhawdi has emerged as the winner for the Secretary post. She secured 21,650 votes in the final result.
Winner: Riya Chhawdi — 21,650 votes
Runner-up: Namrata Chaudhary — 14,869 votes
Margin: 6,781 votes
Third: Stanzin Deskyong — 8,734 votes
DUSU Joint Secretary Election Result 2026
ABVP’s Lakshya Raj Singh won the Joint Secretary post with 16,615 votes.
Winner: Lakshay Raj Singh - 16,615 votes
Runner-up: Vishesh Yadav - 15,778 votes
Margin: 837 votes
Third: Gopal Choudhary - 15,206 votes
DUSU 2026 Elections: When Every Round Changed The Race
The DUSU 2026 counting saw a particularly close contest for the President post, with the lead changing hands several times between ABVP’s Yash Dabas and NSUI’s Vijay Shankar Meena. Meena was ahead after the early rounds, including Round 3, while Dabas moved ahead in later rounds. Even after 16 rounds, the difference between the two candidates was just 79 votes, with Dabas at 18,786 and Meena at 18,707.
The Joint Secretary contest was similarly tight, with ABVP’s Lakshay Raj Singh, NSUI’s Gopal Choudhary and Vishesh Yadav all remaining close to one another during the counting. At Round 16, Gopal Choudhary had 12,647 votes, Lakshay Raj Singh had 12,435 and Vishesh Yadav had 12,638 — a difference of only 212 votes between the three candidates. By Round 18, Singh had moved ahead with 14,156 votes, followed closely by Vishesh Yadav at 14,045 and Gopal Choudhary at 13,829.
The final results came only after 20 rounds of counting, with ABVP eventually securing the President, Secretary and Joint Secretary posts. Yash Dabas finished with 24,576 votes, defeating Meena by 2,053 votes, while Lakshay Raj Singh won the Joint Secretary post with 16,615 votes. The Vice-President contest was less closely fought, with independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen securing 30,615 votes against ABVP’s Ishu Maurya’s 16,910.
