The MAT CBT exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 20, 2026. This Management Aptitude Test is one of the most trusted MBA entrance exams in India. AIMA has conducted this exam since 1988 and more than thirty lakh students have taken it over the years. The exam is held four times every year in February, May, September and December. More than six hundred B-schools accept MAT scores for admission. You can take the test in two modes. The first mode is the Paper Based Test which is called PBT. AIMA holds the MAT exam in many cities across the country so students can pick a centre near their home. The city list is different for PBT and CBT modes. MAT 2026 Exam Dates
The MAT exam for the September 2026 session is planned in two test modes. The Paper Based Test will be held on September 13, 2026. The Computer Based Test will be held on September 20, 2026 and the admit card will be released on September 17, 2026. The results for the September session will be declared by the last week of September 2026. MAT is conducted four times a year so if you miss one session you can always try the next one.
Items to Carry to the MAT Exam Centre
Every candidate must walk in with the correct documents on the exam day. The centre staff checks these documents at the entry gate and full verification happens inside the hall. A missing document can block your entry. So prepare your file one night before the exam and check every item twice. Keep your admit card and ID in a safe folder and reach the centre at least ninety minutes before the test time. The centre gates close thirty minutes before the exam begins.
Items that are permitted inside MAT exam centre:
- A printed copy of the MAT admit card. Carry at least two colour printouts on A4 paper with your photo affixed.
- One original government photo ID. You can use your Aadhaar card or PAN card or voter ID or passport or driving license.
- One photocopy of the same photo ID for the verification process.
- A blue or black ballpoint pen to sign the attendance sheet and fill the answer sheet.
- Passport size photographs in case the centre asks for extra copies.
- PwD candidates must carry their disability certificate and scribe certificate.
- Candidates who need to eat or take medicine during the exam must carry a medical certificate from a competent authority.
Do not carry these items inside MAT exam centre:
- Mobile phones and electronic watches
- Calculators and earphones
- Bags wallets and purses
- Notes books and loose paper
- Correction pens and white fluid
- Water bottles
