Mumbai University has directed all its affiliated colleges to complete the pending eligibility process of students admitted to the various degree programmes. The university has warned colleges that the results of close to 3014 students may be withheld if the verification process is not completed.

The official notification regarding the same has been issued by the university warning that students across 370 affiliated colleges who studied in a non-state board school were at risk of having their results withheld, as their eligibility formalities are still pending. The notification is for the students who passed Class 12 exams from boards other than the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and have taken admission in degree colleges in the 2024-25 academic year, and eligibility status in the Academic Year 2026–27 still shows as 'Admission Granted', 'Provisional', or 'Pending'.
The college-wise list of students whose eligibility is still pending is available on the official website of the university. The university has also asked colleges to submit the necessary documents of students whose eligibility is pending to the Admission Registration, Eligibility and Migration Certificate (AEEM) department at the earliest and update their Eligibility status to 'Eligible ’.
The university has also clarified that all concerned colleges should verify the documents of the students and complete the necessary action and complete the eligibility process. Mumbai University has also notified that if the results of the students remain RPV due to non-completion of the eligibility process, the responsibility for the same will remain with the concerned colleges. Colleges have hence been warned, and students have also been advised to check the college-wise list available on the website of the university, submit the required documents and complete the eligibility process on time.
During admissions, students are required to submit all the necessary documents as part of the verification process for admissions. Colleges at the time admit students under the provisional category and continue classes. Students are asked to submit the original documents, and their status of admission is changed by the college administration. This is applicable only to those students who have completed their Class 12 exams from different state or central boards. Since the timeline for obtaining original marksheets, certificates and other documents varies, students eligible for admission are admitted to the colleges provisionally.
