The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NIFT 2027 exam dates. According to the latest update, the NIFT entrance exam for the 2027-28 session will be held on January 10, 2027. The dates related to the application process will be announced soon on the official websites.
The detailed notification for NIFT 2027 will be released on nift.ac.in and exams.nta.ac.in/NIFTEE. The notification will include information on NIFT exam pattern, syllabus, admission process and eligibility criteria.
Key Highlights about NIFT 2027 Exam
NIFT, also called NIFTEE, is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NTA once a year. It is conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate design courses offered by 20 NIFT campuses in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and others.
The exam has two papers - GAT and CAT. GAT is General Ability Test and CAT is Creative Ability Test. As per exam pattern, B.Des and M.Des candidates must attempt both GAT and CAT papers. While M.F.Tech, M.F.M and B.F.Tech candidates only need to take the GAT exam.
In terms of exam mode, GAT will be held in computer-based mode (CBT) at exam centres across India. CAT will be held in offline mode with pen and paper. This is the same pattern as last year.
When will NIFT 2027 Application Form open?
The NIFTEE application form 2027 will be out soon in November-December 2026. The application form has to be filled online only at exams.nta.ac.in/NIFTEE. The NIFT 2027 application fee last year was INR 2,000 for General category candidates and INR 500 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. A similar fee structure is expected this year as well.
Courses offered through NIFT Entrance Exam
The NIFT participating colleges 2027 will offer five major courses - B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech and M.F.M. Admission to the above courses will be based on NIFT 2027 merit ranks prepared by NTA.
